Neil Young is gearing up for his 8 week tour of North America with Everest, Wilco, and Death Cab for Cutie. The tour starts on October 14 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul MN. Currently, Live Nation (the company producing the tour) indicates that Neil Young’s tour will conclude in New York City with a show-stopping performance at the Famous Madison Square Garden on December 15. When the players take the field on September 21, 2008 it will be for the last time in the current Yankee Stadium. This year is the last season for the stadium, which has been the host of some of baseball’s greatest talents: Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, and of course Babe Ruth just to name a few. The last game will be on Sunday with the New York Yankees vs. The Baltimore Orioles closing out the life of arguably one of, if not the most, historical ballparks in the United States.

The new Yankee Stadium is being built not far from the current Stadium at a cost of $1 billion. Freddie Prinze Jr, the “She’s All That” star has joined the creative team for World Wrestling Entertainment. Prinze will be involved in aspects of the the USA’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” and also the WWE’s weekly television and pay-per-view programs. Chris McCumber, Executive Vice President of Marketing Digital and Brand Strategy, stated that “Brining on board an experienced Hollywood writer, actor and producer like Freddie Prinze Jr. will only increase the level of entertainment to millions of viewers and passionate WWE Raw fans every Monday on USA”. According to Vince McMahon, “Freddie Prinze Jr.’s passion, energy and creativity make him an excellent fit for WWE Raw.” To the novice Prinze fan, his interest in WWE Raw is a bit unexpected; however, Prinze is a longtime fan of WWE Raw and even has an inactive Fan Nation profile up on the WWE site. It is hard to predict what Freddie’s effect will be on the creative aspect of the show and subsequent WWE Raw Tickets sales. Robin Williams is preparing for his first stand-up comedy tour in six years.

The Jonas Brothers are coming to Madison Square Garden on August 9, 10, and 11. The popularity of the Jonas Brothers definitely is starting to rival that of Hannah Montana. The Madison Square Garden performances are part of their “Burning Up Tour” which promotes their new album. The Jonas Brothers are wildly popular these days and share many of the same crazed-ticket-wanting Hannah Montana fans. Answer: The ticket industry is extremely dynamic even on a minute to minute basis. The listed prices of tickets rise and fall very quickly as demand for certain events changes. Question 3: What does local pickup, will call, and / or ticketfast email tickets mean?

Answer: Local pickup means that there is a physical business address where tickets may be picked up in person near the venue. This is not the same thing as will-call (which is pickup at the ticket window at the actual venue). Usually local pickup is another ticket broker who operates an office in close proximity  to the theater or ball park. TicketFast or Email Tickets are tickets which can be sent via email. Theses tickets contain a unique bar code which may only be used one time. Often there will be a different person's name on the ticketfast tickets. This is customary when buying tickets from a secondary source (i.e. a ticket broker). The name on the ticket is the name of the person who's credit card was used to purchase the tickets from the box office. As long as the ticket's barcode has not been scanned at the show or game, it is legitimate for entry.

The New York Giants announced this week that they will  institute  the  Personal Seat License  system for  their season ticket holders  at the new  stadium . The  "NEW" NY giants stadium is set  to  open before the 2010 season. It is not surprising that the Giants  elected to utilized the PSL system to fund the construction costs of the stadium .  Many  new stadiums including MLB stadiums  like the St. Louis Cardinal's Busch Stadium  are built with  PSL proceeds  from loyal season ticket holders. Well....maybe that depends on the king; nevertheless, Madison Square Garden is planning a major renovation which includes new, more comfortable seats. In a press release date April 3, 2008 Madison Square Garden announced plans to renovate the world’s most famous arena, "transforming its interior into a state-of-the-art building that will significantly enhance the experience of customers, sponsors, athletes and performers. The renovation, which is projected to cost $500 million and will be paid for in its entirety by Madison Square Garden, will be targeted for opening for the 2011-12 seasons."
Some highlights of the renovation include:

•  Dramatically redesigned 7th avenue entrance

• New, more comfortable seats, with better sightlines that put patrons closer to the action

• New, wider and more spacious public concourses with seating areas and spectacular views to the city

• State-of-the-art lighting, sound and LED video systems in HDTV

• New food and beverage options offering additional convenience for customers and a greater selection

• New bar areas that directly open to the arena bowl

• A new upper level with a fan and group sales party deck with bars and buffets
  
• Many additional new restrooms, with more than 50% more dedicated space
  
• Restoration of MSG’s world famous ceiling

Madison Square Garden's Ticket Office is located in the Garden's Main Ticket Lobby, directly beyond the building's Seventh Avenue Mall, at 7th Ave. and 32nd St. Madison Square Garden has a full schedule of great events lined up for the rest of 2008. Although the tour starts in the UK during the mid part of 2008, Madonna will jump the puddle to the US in Early October. The first concert will be on 10/3 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford NJ. Quite possibly the most important and highly anticipated tour dates in the US will be the shows at Madison Square Garden on October 6th and 7th. Madonna definitely knows how to entertain her fans  and is no stranger to Madison Square Garden as a venue. Her Confessions Tour performance at the garden in 2006 was packed with non-stop singing and breathtaking dancing.
